Retractable TieDown Design

Robert,

I changed your design slightly. When in the down position I noticed there would be a 1/4" open gap in the bottom.

I changed it so there is never a gap. I doubt I'll have a hanger so bugs and bee's might be a problem ( I know it's minor). Here's the drawings. I bought 2" aluminum stock to make the retract mechanism. If I had found larger stock I wound not have had to add the nylon to it.
