Dave Tate - TR-4 #4052 Construction Photos

Fuselage - Good progress here with controls in place, electrical conduit complete, and flap control rod in console.
Controls - Rudder controls complete.  Dual brakes with a very innovative rudder pedal tensioning system.  Note the spring strap on the floor and bent up toward the firewall.  There is an I-bolt connected to the rudder controls and to the spring.  This maintains the cable tension on the rudder cables.  The rudder cables are also crossed prior to entry into station 30.  This appears to be one of the best crossing points since the cables are at their closest point here anyway.  Looks real neat.
Landing Gear - Here Dave has the grear mounted on his drill press to drill the holes for the spacer pin. Dave had another photo (which I didn't happen to get scanned) that showed a real interesting solution to drilling the additional holes for the mounting of the wheels.  He raised his drill press so he could stand the gear on it's end and do the drilling on the press.  (Now why are these holes not drilled by the factory?)
Landing Gear - The only way to mount the gear.  Turn the Fuselage on it's back and mount the gear.  This is best done before mounting the Vertical Stabilizer.
Nose Gear - The Steel Firewall is cut and in place and the new castering Nose Gear have been installed.
Elevator control rod with support on mid bulkhead.
