The photo below shows the installation of fiberglass angles with nut-plates to install the center console for the rear seats. I did this, following the footsteps of Bob Reed, because of the need to get in and potentially service/assemble the control arm for the flaps. One of the things I would do different in any future installation like this is to use slide-over retaining nuts (saw this used at OC Baker’s) which would allow slight misalignments when installing.


This photo shows the rear seat center console sides. I extended them upwards somewhat to allow what I perceived to be better seating angle for the rear seats. Extension is balsa wood covered with fiberglass—seems to be rigid, will see as the work progresses.

My center console in the front is bonded in place , here you can see the tubing for the rudder cable being embedded in the wall of the tunnel sides. Makes a little more room for the other controls. Peel Ply still in place. The string was used to mark what location to cut the groove for the tubing.
